For a person’s life to have meaning, they must have an impact on the world in some way, shape, or form. Some may question whether a small contribution that affects society or another individual in a minor way is enough to give life meaning. I believe that even the smallest result can make a difference in the world just by living, participating in the economy, and being a member of society. Many factors influence a person’s actions or lead them to ideas. I’m convinced that even the tiniest contributions can affect the world and trigger a chain reaction of thoughts and ideas. I’d like to think that I’ve been a part of something larger than I know. I believe our everyday actions could potentially lead to significant changes worldwide, giving all humans purpose.
It’s difficult for me to emphatically state that my young life does or has had meaning. I may never realize, remember, or see the impact I had on someone else during that time. I’m more confident that the choices I’ve made independently give my life meaning. My intentions, my goals, and the determination and desire I have to achieve them give my life significance. I’m attending school and working hard to become proficient in my field. I plan to contribute to society by applying what I’ve learned to support others and common goals. I hope to be rewarded for my skills so that I can provide a comfortable life for my family and raise children who become valuable members of humanity, giving all lives meaning.
I grew up as a Christian and was taught that God created the heavens, the earth, and us. I was told that our purpose was to serve and love God because He gave us life for that purpose. Most humans exist without absolute knowledge of the purpose their life holds. My belief in God and the Bible assures me that my life has meaning. It also allows me to accept what I cannot see. My faith tells me that God has a purpose for all lives, and that’s what gives my life meaning
